"Gravity die casting" involves creating a mold (die) from metal, utilizing the weight of the aluminum itself to pour it into the cavity of the mold, allowing the solidification shrinkage within the mold to be compensated by gravity. Compared to sand casting, the mold can be reused multiple times, enabling mass production.
